Family Star Night

Product Description

6:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Doors open at 6:30 pm

The evening begins with fun, hands-on activities and an opportunity to explore the Center.

At approximately 7:30pm, professional stargazer Tony LaConte gives an amazing interactive slide presentation on constellations, planets and upcoming sky events. Included are stories of the night sky, featuring folklore from many different cultures.

"Scout Corner" will take place after the presentation. This is an opportunity to address many of the Merit Badge, Belt Loop and Education Pin requirements for Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Weather permitting; attendees will have the opportunity to look through several different high-powered telescopes at the moon, planets, star clusters and more.

Scout Groups: please call 623-322-2001 at least one week ahead to reserve Scout Activity Packets for your group.

You can also fill out our online Reservation Form HERE.

On select weekends, Challenger Space Center hosts an entertaining and interactive astronomy night that is fun for the whole family. If the weather is questionable it's always a good idea to call and see if Family Star Night is canceled!
